Spring Recap: Travel, Renovations, and a Shift in Perspective

The past few months have been a blur—in the best way possible. In April and May, I took a much-needed trip to China and Japan. It wasn’t just sightseeing (though the street food alone deserves its own post)—it was a chance to unplug, reset, and gain some perspective. From the energy of Shanghai to the quirky charm of Osaka, the whole trip reminded me how important it is to step away and look at life from a different angle. Since getting back, I’ve found myself pulling back a bit—especially when it comes to what I share and who I share it with. That’s been intentional. These days, I’m all about keeping things tighter, quieter, and more meaningful. I’m still live on Whatnot, still hustling deals and running shows, but now with a little more focus and a little less noise. On the home front, we’ve hit pause on new acquisitions. No fresh deals in the pipeline at the moment—and honestly, I’m okay with that. I’ve got my hands full with multiple renovations already in motion across existing properties. Progress is happening, but like any good reno, it’s never without a few “surprises.” And then there’s Aldi—my beloved pug and occasional pickle. He’s currently on a well-earned break from costumes while recovering from a double ear infection (and milking the attention for all it’s worth). He’s on the mend, snoring at full volume again, and keeping an eye on me like the tiny foreman he is. Despite the usual chaos, I’m feeling optimistic. The pace may be slower right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s stalled. There’s something brewing beneath the surface—I can feel it. Still, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling the classic *summertime blues* a little. That weird mix of sun-soaked days and lowkey restlessness. But that’s part of the cycle. Thanks for riding the waves with me—through fragrance drops, pickle pugs, reno dust, and everything in between. —Tom
