Launching The Katie Lee Airbnb
In June 2023, I embarked on an exciting journey with the launch of my Airbnb, The Katie Lee. The highlight was hosting the People Magazine Investigates production company, marking the beginning of a unique hosting experience.
Real Estate Ventures
The year brought significant strides in my real estate ventures. Acquiring five new investment properties showcased my commitment to financial growth. Four properties are already generating income, and one is on the verge of completion, promising future success.
Expanding The Frugal Gay Brand
The Frugal Gay brand saw remarkable growth with the introduction of merchandise. Featured in two Dallas Voice articles and making appearances on nine podcasts, including notable shows like Price of Avocado Toast and The Financial Independence Show, amplified the brand's reach. The Financial Independence Podcast was also one of my favorites this year. I also helped 6 clients become home owners. From DFW to Toledo- we have new landlords in the mix.

Fincon Panel and Public Speaking
Being part of the Fincon Panel and sharing my story on stage was a gratifying experience. It provided a platform to connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to discussions on personal finance and financial independence.
Lows
Loss of Loved Ones
Amidst the highs, 2023 presented profound challenges. In August, I experienced the heart-wrenching loss of my sister to cancer. In October, saying goodbye to my loyal companion, Woodie, added another layer of grief.
Partnership Dissolution
November marked the end of my 33% ownership in House Money Media. The dissolution of this partnership brought unexpected professional challenges and required resilience to navigate through.
Looking Ahead to 2024
Despite the setbacks, I am gearing up for a transformative 2024. My goals include launching a service-based business, collaborating with a trainer for personal growth, exploring new markets, realigning my real estate portfolio, and unveiling additional surprises in the pipeline.
As the curtains close on 2023, the blend of highs and lows has sculpted a narrative of resilience, growth, and the unwavering spirit to face whatever challenges lie ahead. Bring on 2024—a year poised for new accomplishments and opportunities.
